What is DNSSEC?

DNSSEC is a security extension to the Domain Name System that helps protect DNS against specific attacks, such as cache poisoning and DNS spoofing. It does this by digitally signing DNS records, which allows DNS clients to verify that the records they receive are genuine and have not been tampered with.
